Lithography is a unique printmaking medium that is based on the principle that oil and water repel one another. Unlike many other printmaking mediums, lithography is a chemical process, which incorporates direct drawing techniques to produce beautiful prints with a unique aesthetic. This workshop is designed as an introduction to the lithography medium, and would suit those who are yet to explore the world of lithography, would like a refresher course, or who have not worked with aluminium matrices before. Participants are encouraged to supply their own notebook/visual diary, printmaking paper (Magnani, Fabriano, Somerset, BFK Rives, or Rice papers), and preliminary sketches/reference material. These items will be available for purchase on the day from the ArtWorld Studio Gallery Shop.
In compliance with Workshop Health & Safety regulations, all participants must bring their own aprons and wear closed-in shoes. Tea and coffee will be provided. |
