Corvid's Dance to September's Song by Shawn Olive

26 November - 22 December 2018
From Symbolism to Poster Design, Expressionism to Illustration, Mythology to Comic Books, Corvids Dance to September’s Song provides fertile ground for such influences. Sequential in structure
but drawn in two directions. Vault and Vale experience love, expulsion, and unification through the creative drive. Evoking shared experience and individual recollection through the universal genre of the love story, styled as myth. Perspective of the journey differs, though the narrative remains singular.

Point of Entry/ Altered Scapes by Alan Morrison

29 October - 24 November 2018
An exploration of abstract / expressionist landscapes stemming from a farm commission depicting the land in abstract form. Multiple rough ideas were created for the commission which have been re imagined here. I had been frustrated with the confines of realist art and needed to break away from my routine so this work gave me the perfect excuse to be deliberately creative and form new avenues of deliberation, and liberation.
Finding a new niche to explore. This is all about changing what you see in front of you. I have felt the urge to move on from the knowledge obtained in over 30 years experience to closing a door and taking a leap of faith in a new direction.

Town & Country by Frida Forsberg
1 Oct - 27 Oct, 2018
Frida's first solo exhibition is about the artist’s experience living in both urban and rural Queensland. Her paintings are a record of her lived exploration of interactions — of both humans with the natural environment, and of nature in an increasingly manufactured world. Frida’s work continues to attract a growing following in both the environmental movement and broader community for her unique depictions of iconic and often endangered Australian landscapes, communities, flora and fauna. Frida has had extensive involvement in nationally significant environmental campaigns and often finds herself on the literal front line of some of the nation’s most contested environmental causes; her protest actions and the communities and landscapes she passionately fights for are regularly captured in her art work. |
