One Man Show
An exploration of abstract / expressionist landscapes stemming from a farm commission depicting the land in abstract form. Multiple rough ideas were created for the commission which have been re imagined here. I had been frustrated with the confines of realist art and needed to break away from my routine so this work gave me the perfect excuse to be deliberately creative and form new avenues of deliberation, and liberation.
Finding a new niche to explore. This is all about changing what you see in front of you. I have felt the urge to move on from the knowledge obtained in over 30 years experience to closing a door ( not completely) and taking a leap of faith in a new direction.
Taking the new experience of working has been adapted to new landscape images of my travels this past year. The whole show forms a journey from past , realistic style work to simplistic abstract form and technique. A much looser , more creative use of shape, colour and imagination where there are no boundaries and rules to finished work.
I,d like to thank Doug and Wayne for the commission in the first place. You have no idea what you have started…..
Artworks from left to right: 'The Bridge', 'Velum Double Sky', 'Wild Bulchary Bay'.
