Artwork Title: 'The Crying Game'

Emerging Artist Paul De Zubicaray presents his solo exhibition showing the viewer works ranged widely in style and subject matter displaying considerable understanding of the modernist era.
He is a professional cartoonist, illustrator and trained graphic career artist who has always painted, mainly in portraiture. Paul is passionate about his conflicting and contradictory love of realism by the old masters, as well as 1960’s and 1970’s pop culture poster art. This, all shown confidently in his artwork using intense, conflicting colour and bold brush strokes. Paul's work is influenced by the components of contemporary culture through the use of speed, texture and colour.
Artist Quote:
Using materials of paint and brush on canvas, I paint figuratively about subjects that matter to me. I aim to expose emotion, life and psychological moments. Everything is captured quickly to extremely loud music blasting from my studio stereo. My technique has evolved from the realistic styles of the Renaissance mixed with contemporary poster art which I have studied to culminate in my own unique and modern style.
'No such thing as spare time. No such thing as free time, no such thing as down time. All you got is life time. Go.' quote by Henry Rollins.
