Chasing her dream to make it ‘Big” in Hollywood, Bronwen enrolled in a drama school notorious for drugs. She avoided it for years, then she tried pot, then speed and ecstasy. Her life became a turmoil of broken relationships and drugs. Following an abortion at just 18, she turned to heroin to help numb the pain. In just two weeks she became a daily user. After losing her job, she had no way to buy drugs. It was then that found work at an illegal brothel in the valley. She worked the streets for 12 months, using up to $1000 a day and weighing a mere 40kg. Through the intervention of her mother and the help of a local doctor who specialised in treating drug addiction, she was able to come clean. Her life was turned upside down when she went to a Christian rehab centre and she hasn’t looked back since. In 2007 Bronwyn launched the Hope Foundation, in Mt Gravatt, to help women with drug addictions and who are trying to exit the sex industry. She was the Queensland finalist for the 2014 Australian of the year and has published a book called “Trophy of Grace” and regularly travels to share her story. She is married with three daughters.
